How to setup a VPN on iPad and watch Hulu, Pandora or BBC iPlayer from everywhere Posted: 27 Apr 2010 08:00 AM PDT If you just got yourself an iPad and you can not access your favorite video streaming site, here is a good news: iPad can be easily setup to use a VPN connection via PPTP, L2TP or IPSec protocols. A VPN service establishes a connection to a remote server that resides on the country where the service you want to use is. Once you connect to the VPN all of your internet traffic flows though that connection so that from the other side at least it looks like the connection originates at the server and not your iPad. First of all you need to register for a VPN account. If you need it for watch Hulu, Pandora, etc. then you need to subscribe to a VPN service the provides US IP address like HideIpVPN, StrongVPN, ibVPN. If you want to watch BBC iPlayer, SeeSaw, MSN Video Player then you need a UK VPN account. You will have to choose a service that accepts PPTP connection. After you subscribe you will receive a username and a password. On the iPad go to Settings > Network and create a new VPN connection. Fill in the username and password and the server address. Press the Connect button and within a few seconds you’ll be connected to the VPN and all your traffic will be going through a US or UK server. Thus you will be able to access any US or UK restricted website. Moreover, if you subscribe to a VPN service you will be able to use it on both your laptop or desktop computer and the iPad. Enjoy!
